Bill Simenson

First Trumpet

Bill has been teaching and freelancing in the Twin Cities since 1983. Has performed in a wide variety of styles and with such groups as the Wolverines Classic Jazz Orchestra, Latin Sounds Orchestra, at Mixed Blood and Guthrie Theaters, as well as with other groups and his own ensembles. Member of: International Trumpet Guild, American Composers Forum, American Federation of Musicians. Awards include: Bush Foundation Fellowship in Music Composition, Jerome Foundation Travel and Study Grant.

Greg Lewis

Second Trumpet

Greg has been enjoying the many spices of a professional musician’s life for over 30 years as a performer and teacher.  He and his wife Rose are founders of Allegar Ensembles.

Neil Okerlund

Horn

Neil recently retired after 35 years as a band director in the Roseville Area School District. He is currently an adjunct professor in the Master of Arts in Organizational Leadership Program at the College of St. Catherine.  Music and leadership come together in his role as secretary of the board for the Metropolitan Symphony Orchestra. Neil rehearses and performs with the Alloy Brass Quintet and Prevailing Winds woodwind quintet. He has been playing French horn for just over a half century.

 

Brad Bellows

Euphonium

Valve trombonist and euphoniumist Brad Bellows attended  Berklee School of Music in Boston and has been a professional musician for over 30 years. He is probably best known as the founder of the Locally Damaging Winds, the Midwest's preeminent jazz trombone quartet, which brings together the finest trombone talent in town. Brad has also released a duo CD with guitarist Dean Granros called “Bear's Delight” and his current project "Valves meet Slide" is a 2 trombone based quintet with trombonist Dave Graf that performs regularly at the Artist's Quarter in downtown St. Paul, MN. 

Scott Lewis

Tuba

Scott is a founding member of Alloy, as well as a founder of the Oakland Brass Quintet of Oakland University.  He has been principal tuba of the Pontiac-Oakland Symphony in Pontiac, Michigan and most recently principal tuba for the Minnesota State Band, where he has also been a featured soloist.  Other groups include Michigan's Oak Park Symphony, Mt. Clemens Symphony, Jackson Civic Theatre, and Clark Lake Players.
